Open Finance: Transforming payments in Indonesia - ThePaypers - The Paypers

Image
Open Finance might just be the solution to transform Indonesia's payments infrastructure. Diego Rojas , Co-Founder and CEO of Finantier has a strong insight on the matter Indonesia is one of the fastest growing digital economies in the world. Adoption of digital goods and services accelerated during COVID-19, with an estimated 80% of Indonesians now purchasing goods or services online. However, Indonesia's poor digital payments infrastructure is still plagued by various frictions and inefficiencies.  For instance, a 2018 McKinsey report estimated Indonesia's ecommerce market to be worth at least USD 8 billion, with the potential of reaching USD 40 billion by 2023. However, 40% of ecommerce transactions are still paid for by cash or bank transfers, revealing that digital payment infrastructure has not kept pace with the growing need for digital payments. This presents an opportunity for Open Finance to transform payments infrastructure in Indone...

From the Tax Law Offices of David W. Klasing - Federal Court holds: IRS Foreign Bank Account Reporting Penalties Can Now Exceed the Regulatory Cap - Yahoo Finance

Image
IRVINE, Calif. , Nov. 16, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- The IRS has gotten into the habit of assessing and enforcing harsh Foreign Bank Account Reporting "FBAR" penalties in the recent past. But statutory guidelines clash on how much is permissible to assess as a penalty in a given case. It is reasonable to be confused about what penalties are allowable under the law, as the issue had to go all the way up to the Second Circuit to be decided. In short, the IRS can enforce FBAR penalties that exceed the regulatory cap. In Kahn , the Court found that the old maximum cap on FBAR penalties was no longer valid, as it had been superseded by a more recent amendment to the original statute. This controversial decision opens the door for extreme penalties for FBAR violations which taxpayers, or their advisors, might not have been aware existed. The best action you can take to avoid facing these extreme penalties is to contact the Tax Law Offices of David W. Klasing today. Our dual Licensed ...

Cleaning your private parts after peeing is an important part of overall hygiene. It helps get rid of odors caused by leftover urine droplets and keeps your genitals healthy. Bacteria need warmth and moisture to grow, so keeping the area clean reduces the risk of skin irritation and bladder and yeast infections. The way you clean also matters. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to clean your private parts after peeing. First things first: After peeing, you'll want to clean your vulva, not your vagina. The vagina is the muscular canal inside your body. It's self-cleaning and doesn't need to be washed. What Is Linux and Why Is It Important? - MakeUseOf

You often hear Linux described as an alternative operating system that you can use instead of Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS, or Google Chrome OS. But once you search for Linux online, you find that the situation is much more complicated than that. There simply isn't a thing called "Linux" for you to download and put on your computer. Linux isn't a product. It's an entire ecosystem of freely shared software distributed in many different ways. This software now powers most of the world's servers, supercomputers, and phones. It is also increasingly a great option for your PC. What Is Linux? Linux is technically not a desktop operating system, but a kernel. The kernel is the part of your computer that enables physical hardware to communicate with what's on-screen. The kernel is the reason text appears when you type, the cursor moves when you stroke the touchpad, and images appear on your monitor. ...

Bucks' Championship Marks Satisfying End to Challenging Season - Sports Illustrated

As Giannis Antetokounmpo slammed and swatted his way to Finals MVP over the last two weeks, he also caught the basketball public's attention with a quality we don't usually reserve for NBA superstars. Antetokounmpo paired his on-floor dominance with a notable earnestness en route to the Larry O'Brien Trophy, becoming the most endearing Finals protagonist in recent memory in the process. Antetokounmpo delivered legendary press conference monologues, marveled at seeing LeBron James courtside and provided not one, but two instant-classic Finals highlights. As the NBA's grueling pandemic period comes to a close, seeing Antetokounmpo cradle his first championship trophy is a welcome sight. The 2020-21 season wasn't exactly the most enjoyable year in league history. The haze of the NBA bubble still lingered over the league as play began in December, with an unusually short rest period leading to some ugly basketball in the early months. James Harden's pouting in Houst...

Government steps back from tinkering with Bank of Mum and Dad - The Irish Times

Image
The Government has stepped back from planned changes to the tax treatment of family loans that could eat into tax-free thresholds on inheritance. Known as the Bank of Mum and Dad, such low-interest loans are frequently used by families looking to give a financial hand-up to children when it comes to big ticket purchases, such as cars, home purchase or renovations. Although tax law does not oblige family members to charge one another interest on loans, the value of the interest that the parent forgoes by lending the money rather than saving it has been seen as a taxable benefit. "Where a child receives a loan from a parent for which they pay nothing" – which is to say as an interest-free loan – "or where they pay interest at a rate less than the open-market interest rate, the annual value of the loa...
